Back in October, we wrote about the real-life Thor's hammer, Mjölnir made by YouTuber Allan Pan. Well folks, Pan has done it again. He took to his YouTube channel, Sufficiently Advanced, where he likes to "make pretend things into real things" and made a real burning lightsaber.
It's safe to say that he looks a little afraid handling the lightsaber, but the reality is… We would all be terrified holding a lightsaber for the first time, let alone putting it near our face.
Pan made a blue and green lightsaber out of a nichrome ignition with a methanol and acetone fuel mixture to make the flame. The lightsaber even has the right sounds (if you hit a button). Sure, some might call it a glorified flame thrower, but it can totally destroy things and light cigarettes.
It's awesome, but not as awesome as the thing Pan uses it on at the end of the video.
