Sonic & All-Stars DLC characters may be fan-chosen

The developer of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has made a big promise to fans.

Sumo Digital executive producer Steve Lycett told players of the new kart-racing game that if they could get 1,000 people each to vote for three potential downloadable-content characters, he would show the results to Sega.

Well, they did. It's not yet the deadline of December 1, but fans' efforts have amassed over 15,000 votes. Ryo Hazuki (Shenmue), Hatsune Miku (of rhythm game Project Diva), and Segata Sanshiro (the Sega Saturn mascot) are in the top three with over 2,500 votes each as of yesterday. Vectorman holds fourth place at 1,152 votes.

A rumor is going around that former Sega mascot Alex Kidd will be unlockable on December 25.
