Sonic Forces Adds Free DLC, Brings “Sanic” Into the Fold

Sega is clearly aware of the internet. When Sonic Forces was announced, we thought it was going to be yet another ham-fisted, edgy story. But it turned out that Sega has  found the internet and decided to embrace it by introducing custom characters, or as the Sonic fanbase knows them better as, Original Characters (OC: Please don't steal)

But let's be honest, the Sonic franchise hasn't been good for a while. Sonic Mania was a fantastic return to roots, but before that, Sonic would teeter between lackluster and on-fire garbage. This is how the meme about "Sanic" was born. He's a poorly drawn version of Sonic. Well, took their blows in stride and released Sanic into the official canon… sort of.

Sega announced on Twitter that Sonic Forces would be receiving a Sanic DLC that gives your custom character the option of wearing a t-shirt featuring Sanic.

Sonic Forces is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
