Sonic Runners headed to mobile in 2015

Sonic Boom for the Wii U and 3DS  was probably the last Sonic game that you heard about and who knows which Sonic game you played last, but it looks like you will have an opportunity to get involved in another Sonic game — only this time on a different platform.

The platform you'll be seeing the new game, Sonic Runners, on will be…drumroll…mobile devices! Your iOS and Android tablets or phones will be feeling the need to grab gold rings and run entirely too fast.

Sonic Runners was revealed by producer Takashi lizuka during Tokyo Joypolis, a SEGA event in Japan. The only information that was released on the game during the event was the name (Sonic Runners), the fact that it a mobile game, and that it will be releasing in Japan in 2015. Famitsu will likely have more information on the game come January. Whether or not this game will release in conjunction with a new console game was not mentioned. We can only hope that if a console game does come, it is similar to Sonic Adventure or Sonic the Hedgehog.
