Sony Computer Entertainment's president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida, in a recent interview with Eurogamer, expressed a desire to continue working with Bloodborne developer FromSoftware.
"Absolutely," Yoshida said when asked if Sony is hoping to work with the studio again. "As you know, they're a publisher as well, and also occasionally developer. Being management of From Software, I can totally understand they're publishers, they have to manage their resources. But also they support Miyazaki-san's creative vision. Sometimes he might want to do something risky for them – in that case, we might have a chance of working with us."
Using Bloodborne as an example, Yoshida continued, "It was early, from a Japanese publisher's standpoint, to bet big on a PS4-only title. That was a quite large development effort. We're able to work closely with them. We have great relationships, and because of the nature of them being publishers and developers, it's a unique relationship. We wish to continue to work with them."
FromSoftware is currently putting the finishing touches on Bloodborne's DLC, The Old Hunters, which will bring three new areas totalling to about eight hours of gameplay. But there are currently no plans for any additional Bloodborne DLC.
FromSoftware is also developing Dark Souls 3, which is slated for a 2016 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Perhaps Sony's desire to continue working with FromSoftware will result in PlayStation 4-exclusive content in the upcoming game.
