Sony accidentally reveals first Dark Souls 3 DLC release date

Last week, the official Dark Souls 3 Twitter account teased a "huge" announcement for the game. The tease was essentially a "Save the Date" invitation from the developers for August 24th, 2016. Unfortunately, Sony's official Playstation twitter account might have spoiled that surprise.

A now-deleted tweet, archived on Shacknews, revealed the release date for the first bit of Dark Souls 3 DLC, as well as a link to a trailer. According to the tweet, Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel is set to release for the PS4 on October 25th.

In addition to that, a Japanese video game magazine (via Siliconera) detailed the DLC to release in Japan on October 26th with new weapons, new magic and a PvP-exclusive map named "Immortal Competition". The magazine also revealed images of the new content, showing a new area covered in snow, a sword with colorless flames, "magic that looks like an icy storm along with one that looks like a circular boomerang made of light."

We'll probably get to see the trailer tomorrow and it will be right here.
