Sony changes when PS Plus games will go live in Europe

Sony is slowly coming to its senses when it comes to its various arms of PlayStation. For starters, it was just announced that all free PlayStation Plus games will now go live in Europe on the first Tuesday of each month, the same day as the United States. Previously, PS Plus games released in Europe on the first Wednesday of the month.

The new date will be effective immediately with next month's lineup of free games. While we still don't know what July's lineup includes, we do know the free games will be made available across all PlayStation platforms on Tuesday, July 7th.

"Hey folks. As of this month, Plus games go live in both EU and US on the first tuesday of the month (no longer Wednesday in EU). The first Tuesday in July is 7th July, hence why the games aren’t launching this week," SCEE blog manager Fred Dutton revealed on the PlayStation Blog.

As for when we'll hear what game's will be free next month, Dutton, sadly, couldn't announce a date.

"Alas, I can’t confirm an announce date. We generally announce on the Wednesday prior to release, but occasionally that isn’t possible," Dutton said. "Suffice to say we’ll have the news for you soon."

In the meantime, use this time to download June's free PS Plus games before they're gone.

Microsoft, meanwhile, announced next month's free Xbox Games with Gold will include Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag for Xbox One and Gears of War 3 for Xbox 360.
