Sony ending support for Facebook on PS3 and Vita

Sony is ending support for Facebook features across a number of its PlayStation platforms, including the PS3 and Vita.

Support for Facebook features integrated within the PS3 and Vita will terminate in January 2016, as well as the actual Facebook applications for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV. As of yesterday, September 15, Facebook applications are no longer available for download from the PlayStation Store.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your understanding," Sony said in a brief message, noting "The schedule may change depending on circumstances.

Facebook on PlayStation 4, including linking your account and sharing captured screenshots/video, will not be affected.
