Sony has confirmed that the "working agreement" with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale developer, SuperBot Entertainment, has "amicably ended."
Speaking to Kotaku, a Sony representative noted, "We have had a positive working relationship with this talented studio, and wish them the best of success in their next endeavor."
While the fate of SuperBot remains up in the air, Sony did confirm that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and all of its forthcoming DLC releases will be supported by Santa Monica Studio, who is also developing God of War: Ascension.
SuperBot Entertainment was formed in 2009 and released PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale for the PS3 and Vita last fall. Although the game received generally favorable reviews, it apparently fell flat in fan reception (though sales were reportedly 'on track' with Sony's expectations). Two weeks ago, the company announced layoffs for a significant number of staff. It's certainly an interesting turn of events for SuperBot who, back in December, posted a job listing suggesting a sequel to PlayStation All-Stars.
