Sony: ‘Expect new game announcements’ at Gamescom 2014

Sony has announced its Gamescom 2014 plans, teasing "new game announcements" alongside updates on games set to release through the end of this year and the beginning of 2015.

"As per tradition, we’ll be holding a media briefing to showcase the huge variety of games coming to PlayStation platforms later this year and into 2015. Expect new game announcements alongside updates on some of the blockbuster titles you’ll be playing this winter," the company said. While I don't know for certain what surprises are in store for us, Sony did release a teaser earlier this week hinting at what many believe to be Until Dawn. Other already confirmed titles that Sony could talk more about during the briefing include Driveclub, The Order: 1886, LittleBigPlanet 3, and Bloodborne.

The Sony briefing will be held on Tuesday, August 12 beginning at 6:00pm BST (1:00pm EDT). For those unable to attend the event in Cologne, Germany, the briefing will be livestreamed in full on the PlayStation Blog. You'll be able to watch the stream through your PC, smartphone or tablet, as well as through the PS4 browser, PlayStation Home on PS3, and on Twitch.

And now for a really trippy teaser video.
