Sony extends PS Plus subscriptions for recent PSN outages

Last week, Sony began sending emails regarding extenstions to PlayStation Network subscriptions as an apology for the recent PSN outages. Today, we learned how Sony plans to make it up to those affected.

According to Sony, PlayStation Plus subscriptions will be extended by one day. The voucher code will add an extra day onto the end of your current subscription, but you must have had an active PS Plus account on January 4th to qualify. The code must redeemed before March 31st.

"Thanks for your patience during the service interruption," Sony said in its email to subscribers.

PlayStation Network began experiencing issues on January 4th with outages across all PlayStation platforms. The network issues lasted about 10 hours. The extra day is a nice gesure, but I'm sure we'd all much rather prefer a stable service.
