Sony is blocking support requests from people who requested No Man’s Sky refunds

After the highly anticipated and very disappointing No Man's Sky released, many people went to Sony to request a refund for their digital PS4 copies. Sony typically doesn't hand out refunds but they felt obligated to hand out refunds to many people due to the high demand for them and the already overwhelming amount of controversy. Sony granted a "one time gesture of good will" and gave people their money back if they requested it. Many people assumed that all their issues were fixed and that Sony wouldn't hold any sort of grudge against users for requesting refunds. Turns out that may not be the case.

Several NeoGAF users are reporting Sony has blocked support chat requests tied to their account. Meaning if you have an issue with your account or you need something resolved, too bad for you. The only way around this is to fill out the form before you start a chat with a different username than your actual username. It's unknown what happens if a support rep learns that you're using an alternative account, but I would assume they may just end the chat.

In related news, developer Hello Games is being investigated by the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) for false advertising. No Man's Sky has also become the lowest rated game on Steam. It's safe to say, even with all the bags of money they've earned, Hello Games probably isn't super proud of the final product they created.

It's pretty absurd that Sony would just refuse to assist you with issues to the services you pay for all because you requested a refund for a game. Hopefully this is all an error and Sony will fix this issue. We will keep you updated if the story develops.
