Sony is turning off auto-renewal on PS Plus in regions getting price hikes

Sony previously decided to change the price for PlayStation Plus which meant that some regions would have to pay more for their PlayStation Plus subscription and in preparation for the price change Sony decided to stop the auto renewal of PlayStation Plus.

Sometimes when a subscription fee increases companies just inform their customers about the change and if the customer doesn't say anything then they will keep their subscription while paying the higher price. Sony, on the other hand, decided to turn off the auto-renewal for almost everyone.

PS Plus subscribers received an e-mail (via Reddit) detailing the price changes and if they didn't respond at all or responded that they didn't want to keep their subscription when the price change was due got their auto-renewal turned off. That's pretty nice of Sony to do because it's easy for an e-mail to get lost in the inbox or get caught by the spam folder and thereby "forcing" users to keep a subscription they can't afford or don't think it's worth the new price.

Here, Sony, take some good guy points.
