At E3 next week, Sony Online Entertainment will be unveiling the SOEmote, an "innovative new facial recognition and voice technology feature" available for EverQuest II players.
The new SOEmote will bring an all-new level of immersion within EQII through the real-time personal expression of characters.
Using "revolutionary" motion tracking software created by Image Metrics, SOEmote will map your facial movements onto your in-game character via a webcam. It will also integrate Vivox's Voice Font technology so that other players will hear your voice as your character voice.
Sony hasn't confirmed when the new feature will go live, but it will be on display at E3 next week so we'll be sure to fill you in on all the details once we learn more.
