Sony: PSN connectivity being restored

Following today's PlayStation Network and Sony Online Entertainment outages, Sony has confirmed that network connectivity is being restored.

"Thanks for your patience," PlayStation said on Twitter.

Over the weekend, PSN was victim of a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, resulting in outages for about a day. Yesterday, Sony restored service, but when it went down again this morning people naturally panicked — especially when notorious hacker group Lizard Squad posted some tweets suggesting they were behind it. Sony never actually said it was a DDoS, only telling gamers they were experiencing "minor network connectivity issues" across PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Networks.

Whatever the reasoning for the disruption, it now appears to be over. Let's hope this is the last of the downtime.
