Sony put the wrong game on January 2016’s PS Plus freebies

Earlier this week Sony revealed the free games PlayStation Plus members could look forward to downloading. Among the six games (listed below) that were up for a free download, History Legends of War: Patton was included for the PlayStation Vita.

Unfortunately, History Legends of War: Patton is not available on the Vita – it's a PlayStation Portable game and it wasn't the game intended to be on the list.

According to PlayStation's Europe division "Legends of War: Patton's Campaign (PSP) was mistakenly included in January's Monthly Games" and the game has now been replaced with the correct game, History: Legends of War. Luckily, History: Legends of War is, in fact, a Vita game.

It's easy to see how History Legends of War: Patton and History: Legends of War were mixed up. Here are the official PlayStation Plus games for January 2016.

  • Hardware: Rivals (PS4)
  • Grim Fandango Remastered (PS4 / Vita)
  • Dragon Age: Origins (PS3)
  • Medal of Honor Warfighter (PS3)
  • Nihilumbra (Vita)
  • History: Legends of War (Vita)

Nothing like starting this year's PS Plus freebies on the wrong foot, right?
