Sony Rewards has been around for a while, but Sony today revealed that the program is adding PlayStation-specific incentives. With this, gamers can now gain points that can be redeemed for games, PlayStation Store cash, PlayStation Plus memberships, Bravia TVs, movies, music, and more.
Earning points is fairly simple. Just do the obvious things like spending money on PSN. For every $1 spent on the PlayStation Store (or any Sony Store), you'll earn 1 point towards Sony Rewards. You'll even get 100 points just for signing up for Sony Rewards and linking your PSN account. Other ways to earn even more points include things like purchasing a year of PlayStation Plus membership from the PS Store (250 Reward Points) or seeing the movie Carrie in theatres (400 points).
If you really want to take advantage of this program and are serious about Reward Points you can sign up for a Sony credit card. With this Sony branded card you can earn points at a much quicker pace. It rewards you with 10 times the points on PSN purchases, 3 times the points at Sony stores or participating retailers; all other purchases earn you one point. There's no annual fee for the card, but I'd be sure to look over the fine print before signing up for anything.
Head over to the PS Blog for more info and be sure to Play On so that you can earn more.
