Sony’s bringing back ‘Vote to Play’ for March’s PS Plus

Sony announced today the return of "Vote to Play," a somewhat new initiative that allows PlayStation Plus members to vote on one of three PlayStation 4 games to be featured as part of the upcoming month’s Instant Game Collection.

With February's free PS Plus games already announced, Vote to Play will impact March's monthly lineup. Voting begins on February 9th and the candidates include Action Henk!, Assault Android Cactus, and Broforce.

"The thread that brings these three games together: fun titles that can connect the Plus community to play together with friends," said PlayStation Plus Content Partnership Manager Greg Lewickyj.

Voting opens on February 9th and you must be a PlayStation Plus member to participate. You can cast your vote through your PlayStation 4 and access "Vote to Play" in the "What's New" section or PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store.

The winner of the inaugural Vote to Play poll was Grow Home, which was made available to PS Plus members in September 2015. Its competition — Armello and Zombie Vikings — would end up releasing with a discount, so you can assume the same will happen with the games that don't win this vote.

Below are some quick descriptions of each game, but be sure to check back as each developer/publisher will vie for your vote.

Action Henk!

A light-hearted racer, from developer RageSquid and publisher Curve Digital, where you run, jump, and butt-slide your way through a host of toy room environments with past-their-prime action figures.

Assault Android Cactus

Developer Witch Beam strives to provide a fresh experience with this twin stick shooter that utilizes a unique battery mechanic in lieu of traditional lives. The game also supports Shareplay that lets your friend join your game up to an hour at a time, creating an online local co-op experience.

Broforce

From publisher Devolver and developer Free Lives, is the game "we always wanted as we cheered beloved 80's-era action heroes on to victory." This over-the-top co-op experience is described as "part irreverent spoof and part loving homage to what are now classic movies and classic games."
