Sony sending details on PSN service extensions following downtime

As promised, Sony will extend subscriptions for PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, and video rentals for active accounts as a result of the recent PlayStation Network outage.

It isn't clear how long Sony will extend the subscriptions for, but that should be included in the email that will be sent out "starting this week."

PSN update: check your email starting this week for details on extensions for PS Plus, PS Now, and video rentals for active accounts

For comparison, Sony offered users a five-day extension to their PlayStation service subscriptions during 2014's major outage. The most recent problems only lasted 10-or-so hours; however, we've had some hiccups in service since — so we'll have to wait and see what Sony considers fair compensation for the lost time.

If you have received the email already, feel free to share in the comments below and we'll update accordingly.
