Sony struggling to gain third-party support for PS Vita

Sony is having trouble securing third-party developers for its latest handheld, the PlayStation Vita, which launched in North America in February and eight months ago in Japan.

In a recent interview with PlayStation: The Official Magazine, worldwide studio president Shuhei Yoshida said, “We’re having a more difficult time than we had anticipated in terms of getting support from third-party publishers, but that’s our job.

"We will continue to talk to development communities and publishing partners and tell them why Vita can provide a great experience for the IPs they have," he said. "I hope the Assassin’s Creed game will prove that."

Ubisoft will release Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation for PS Vita on October 30.
