Sony teases a “reveal of something new” ahead of Gamescom 2017 convention

Microsoft may have gotten the jump on Gamescom 2017, but the show doesn't officially open its doors until tomorrow. Sony has taken the opportunity to tease an incoming reveal of "something new" on their PlayStation Europe social media channels alongside a GIF of a mystery object hidden by a red cloak.

Check it out:

There's no indication that whatever the reveal is, applies to anyone but European customers, so it's possible that North American PlayStation fans may get left out. Gamescom 2017 doesn't actually open until tomorrow, so it looks like we won't have to wait long.

Sony, like its competitors, isn't holding a formal press conference, as it usually saves a bunch of major announcements for its PlayStation experience in December. They will also be hosting a presser during Paris Games Week in October, so we expect to hear more from them then.
