Sony just can't stop teasing the revival of one of its most beloved characters, Crash Bandicoot. Many fans have been requesting some sort of revival, but since Activision currently holds the rights to Crash, Sony's hands are kind of tied. But the company just keeps teasing the little guy over and over, which makes it hard to ignore.
The first tease came way back with the PS4 launch trailer. Fans theorized that a silhouette of Crash was on a posted sign with a blue arrow pointing up to what seemed to be the orginal Sony logo, check it out for yourself down below. If you want to check out the video for yourself, click here. (The tease comes in at 00:49 and it's in the right hand corner.)
That tease wasn’t the clearest, but it led many fans to believe that Sony is cooking something up with its former mascot. However the next tease was crystal clear when Shawn Layden, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, came walking out on stage at PlayStation Experience with a Crash shirt. This made everyone, including myself, believe that sometime during the press conference Sony was going to unveil a new Crash game, but sadly they didn't.
Now we have the third tease, which comes from the official PlayStation Middle East twitter account. The post translates to "Most Wanted: Where Are You Crash?” and features a full picture of our beloved hero.
This has to make people think, is Sony teasing a future Crash game? Nothing is ruled out as of yet, but since Activision holds the rights to Crash, Sony will have to either collab with them or purchase the rights back. But since this is the third tease, I believe whichever route Sony took has already been set.
