Sony to discontinue MLB 14 The Show online support after just 13 months

With MLB 15 The Show due out this month, Sony is readying to put all of its focus in the latest installment in its exclusive baseball franchise. What that means is support for MLB 14 The Show is ending soon.

According to Sony's updated support for online game features, you will no longer be able to use the online features for MLB 14 The Show as of June 18, 2015. This applies to all versions of the game — PS4, PS3, and Vita.

And with the PS4 version only releasing in May 2014, it means we've only enjoyed 13 months of online gameplay. It's almost as if they're forcing you to upgrade. Sure, a lot of you may have already been planning to upgrade, but for those on the fence this type of support — or lack thereof — might make you reconsider.
