Building off the success of Remote Play, Share Play, and Project Morpheus, Sony is looking to take gameplay to a deeper level in their brand new peripheral, PlayStation Flow.
The latest innovation from Sony's PlayStation Wearable Entertainment Technology division lets you dive into a fully immersive experience that combines gaming with real life swimming — a true watershed moment in wearable tech.
PlayStation Flow comes with a pair of LCD head-mounted goggles that download game data from your PlayStation 4 via Bluetooth technology. Sensors slip onto your thighs and biceps to allow your movements to be tracked above and below the water, sending real-time updates on your movements to your PS4 via remote play. For a totally immersive experience, PlayStation Flow even comes with waterproof earphones.
But what happens when your done with the swimming environment in your game? To ensure you can return gaming on your PS4 as quickly as possible, Sony has also invented the PlayStation Flow Body Dryer. According to Sony, it'll dry you in just seconds.
What's best, though, if you don't want to get wet you don't have to! Sony says PlayStation Flow will work just as well out of water as it does in water!
Okay, so spoiler, this is an April Fools' Day joke. But it's still hilarious as Sony absolutely nailed the tone of your typical technology promo video. As ridiculous as this is, PlayStation Flow is something I could definitely imagine someone pitching on Shark Tank.
