Next month the annual Game Developer Conference will be taking place from March 14-18th in San Fransico. Until late, Sony has kept quiet on their newest innovation PlayStation VR, but yesterday the company announced a press event that will take place in the midst of the trade show on March 15th.
The event will kick off with a presentation focusing on the headset device at 2:00 PM PT, following hands-on demos which will last until 6:00 PM PT. Check out the invite down below.
With price points for the Vive and Rift out in the open, all that’s left is for Sony to reveal PlayStation VR’s point of entry. With any luck, VR enthusiasts won’t have to wait much longer, hopefully Sony drops the bomb on both its pricing and release date, despite GameStop's CEO Paul Raines hinting at a launch this fall.
According to a Sony representative there are rumors that the headset itself will cost $299 and will not include the camera of PlayStation Move controllers. The representative went on to say that Sony is considering selling an additional VR kit for $129 that will include the camera, Move controllers and a game. Combined, the PlayStation VR and the additional kit with gear would cost $428.
