Sony Says Your Faux Controller Could ‘Esplode!

Sony Computer Entertainment has updated their consumer alerts page to warn of counterfeit PlayStation 3 controllers.

Their warning? “It is possible that some counterfeit product may ignite or explode.”

We know the warning is serious, and that this is within the realm of possibility (perhaps with a lower-quality battery pack), it just sounds…well, funny.

Either way, don’t use exploding controllers, because Sony doesn’t claim any liability for loss or damage suffered through use of unlicensed controller bombs.
