We live in a very odd time for movies. No one likes being surprised anymore now that we get and can watch 20 different trailers for a single movie on repeat as long as we want, and it can seem like who's in a movie can sometimes take precedence over what the movie is actually about. OK, maybe that's a bit of an overstatement, but regardless who's in a movie is always a hot talking point.
But you know who isn't going to be in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story? Han Solo.
Extra caught up with a few of the head honchos on Rogue One to talk rumors and Director Gareth Edwards and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy were both quick to shoot a couple of them down. Despite the fact that Alden Ehrenreich had recently been cast as the legendary smuggler, and that the movie had undergone some extensive reshoots and that the film takes place around the time Solo is entering his prime, he will not be gracing us with his blaster…or presence.
Edwards said:
"I’m not sure if I’m allowed to do this, but I think I should… I can put to bed, Han Solo is not in the movie."
On the plus side (if you didn't like him), Hayden Christensen will not be in Rogue One either as Kennedy referenced that rumor as "not true." Fortunately, James Earl Jones will be bringing his incredible voice to breath life into Darth Vader once again, so at least the film has that going for it.
