Sorry, Steven Spielberg is “never” going to direct a Star Wars movie

It appears as though we are going to have to stick with J.J. Abrams and Jurassic World's Colin Trevorrow as our new leaders into the continuing world of Star Wars. Why? Well, the Sci-Fi and fantasy mastermind, Steven Spielberg, isn't very keen on taking up directing the series.

"I'm never going to make a Star Wars film. That's not my genre," he said, via the Toronto Sun (via GameSpot). "It's certainly my buddy's–the Thomas Edison of science fiction, George Lucas, who created the entire series. But that was never for me. I'm just a fan. I'm just with everybody else in the audience watching them."

George Lucas already made it clear that he would never be returning to the Star Wars universe. According to Lucas, filming Star Wars isn't very fun so he won't be coming back to the series any time soon.

Perhaps the friendship between Lucas and Spielberg revealed how limiting filming Star Wars is and how Disney keeps such a firm grip on the series that there isn't room for creative freedom.
