SoulCalibur V has sold about a million copies less than SoulCalibur IV, Namco Bandai revealed in its Q1 financial report.
The current sales, as of June 30, 2012, stands at 1.38 million copies after six months. In comparison, SoulCalibur IV managed to sell 2.3 million sales after eight months on sale.
It must be disheartening to Namco, especially considering the generally favorable reception it received from critics. GameZone's Andrew Clouther scored it an impressive 8/10, citing impressive gameplay and character creation, but disappointing story.
While it seems SoulCalibur V was a step in the right direction for the franchise, are its sales going to be enough to convince Namco to create another? Or have wee seen the last SoulCalibur?
