SoulCalibur V story trailer

You just have to love the SoulCalibur announcer.  He’s been cracking me up for years.  Everything is such serious business to him.  If the series ever dropped him, I don’t know what I’d do.  In the beginning of this new story trailer, he says, “Transcending history and the world, a tale of souls and swords eternally retold.”  Nailed it.

I’m a fan of the SoulCalibur series.  I’ve been playing the games since button mashing with Taki on the arcade game on campus.  For fighting games, they have always delivered.  Story wise, they’ve always been a bit weak though.

It seems like there is a new SoulCalibur V trailer every other day.  Yesterday, a story trailer came out.  I have to admit, it makes the plot elements of the series actually look fascinating.  The protagonist is Sophitia’s son Patroklos; who is searching for his sister Pyrrha who was stolen at the age of three by Tira.

SoulCalibur V takes place 17 years after SoulCalibur IV.  Characters are older and have apparently had children.  I take it Patroklos is going to learn that the Azure Knight Nightmare is NOT a fairy tale and I take it that it will be the major conflict in the story.
