South Park: The Stick of Truth finally gets a release date

South Park: The Stick of Truth has been languishing in developmental purgatory for a very long time. When the game's original publisher, THQ, filed for bankruptcy in January, The Stick of Truth went through a series of understandable setbacks. But today, Ubisoft, the title's current publisher, has finally committed to a release date, and it's right around the corner.
December 10th is the date that you should circle on your calendar. Actually, you should probably take that entire week off. Obsidian Entertainment, the game's developer, doesn't typically make short games. After all, this is the company behind Fallout: New Vegas.
Interestingly, no next-gen consoles were named in the release announcement. The PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms were all covered, but the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were noticeably absent.
It'll be interesting to see how South Park: The Stick of Truth fairs over the holiday season. Sony and Microsoft are hyping their next-gen consoles like crazy. Hopefully, South Park won't get lost in the fray.
Last June, I got the chance to spend a little quality time with The Stick of Truth during E3, and it was one of the most entertaining titles that I've ever played. So, I definitely plan on unplugging my PlayStation 4 in order to hang out with Cartman, Kyle, Stan, and Kenny.
