SpaceX is hard at work on bringing a man to Mars. But that’s still far away. So, why not create your very own space program where you manage your company, explore new technology, and ultimately set foot on our red neighbor. Mars Horizon lets players achieve exactly that by offering both an educational and entertaining management sim.

Similar to Kerbal Space Program, Mars Horizon lets you design your own rockets. But there is a large focus on the strategic and management side of things. So, don’t expect micromanaging actual rocket launches and so on. It’s all about the bigger picture.

In base building tradition, players have to build various buildings that aid your space program in their own ways. From launch-pads to training facilities, and everything in between, it’s up to you how the space agency progresses and which paths it takes.

That’s because, despite the singular goal of reaching Mars, there are a plethora of ways how to achieve that feat. Spaceships and landing vehicles all can be built from a large assortment of parts, giving the experience a very personal note.

On top of that, Mars Horizon also features a deep tech tree which gives your personal space agency unique opportunities to explore. Giving even more credibility to the game is the fact that the European Space Agency ESA collaborated with developer Auroch Digital. It doesn’t get more realistic than that.

But of course, Mars Horizon is still a game at the end of the day. With a focus on realism, it ought to be the perfect game for fans of astronomy and engineering nonetheless.
