Spartacus Legends, a new fighting game that will "immerse users in the visceral world created by the popular Spartacus original series, has been announced by Ubisoft. It will offer a "unique gaming experience" based on the popular characters from the hit Starz series.
The new game, which will arrive in early 2013, will allow players to experience "pimeval gladiator moments" that take them from inside the ludos to the brutal battle arenas, all in attempt to become a legend.
Spartacus Legends will feature thousands of weapon combinations and a robust skill system that offers a variety of customization options for the player's gladiators. Players can create their own gladiators or choose to fight as Spartacus or Crixus for bragging rights among friends and on the worldwide leaderboards.
Liam McIntyre, who assumed the role of Spartacus in the TV series after Andy Whitfield was re-diagnosed with cancer, has played a large part in the development with Spartacus Legends and allowed his likeness and voice to be featured in the game.
Spartacus Legends will be playable at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2012 this week at the Starz Media booth. It is set to release in winter 2013 for Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network.
