Spec Ops: The Line video interview with senior designer

Shawn Frison is the senior designer for 2K Games and Yager Development’s new game Spec Ops: The Line.  In his interview he talks about third person shooter and the aspects to look forward to in it.

The setting is a post-apocalyptic Dubai.  The environment is enriched with sand; dunes, sandstorms, and sand falls.  At points you will be able to use the sand to your advantage and other moments the sand will rattle your aim and hurt your vision.

The story was originally based off the novel Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.  I assume this means as you explore this world you will see mistreatment by a near tyrannical government towards the natives of the area.

As the story continues, your characters will go through changes.  As first they will be responsive to duty and be clean looking.  Towards the end they will be grittier, take things personally, and looked banged up wounded; when ‘yes sir’ turns into ‘I’ll kill these bastards!’

Check out the interview yourself and remember Spec Ops: The Line comes out April 12th.
