‘Special’ Life is Strange announcement coming today

Dontnod Entertainment and Square Enix have teased a "special announcement" for Life is Strange coming later today. The pre-announcement teaser was posted to the game's official Twitter account with a photo of Max and Chloe.

No other details were offered just yet, but logic tells us the announcement will either be the release date for Episode 5, or that we will be getting a second season — or possibly both!

Speaking in an interview with Hannah Telle, the voice of Life is Strange's main protagonist Maxine Caulfield told us there have been "no serious discussions" about a second season, only that Dontnod and Square Enix were "thinking about it." If they do a second season, Hannah Telle isn't even certain if she'll be in it, as the developer might choose to go a "True Detective sort of way where itw ould be a new storyline and new characters." Personally, I think many players have formed a bond with Max, and moving away from her in a second season to introduce new characters would be a risky decision. Plus, how do you justify her powers with another character?

Stay tuned as we wait for the big announcement.
