Speed running: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds beaten in 91 minutes

It seems no game is safe from those corner-cutting masters, the speed running community. Certainly not The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, not since runner Anwonu polished it off in a scant 91 minutes.

Anwonu’s world record-setting run is available on his Twitch page. Due to a number of mistakes costing precious frames and adding seconds to his run, he says he isn’t happy with the run, world record or no. However, for the any% category, it’s unmatched, and shows just how finicky speed run maneuvers can be.

Just three weeks ago, the world speed record for the original Super Mario Bros., also in the any% category, was beaten by 1.6 seconds, bringing the record that much closer to the fabled 4:57.00.
