Spelunker HD getting even more punishing DLC

Maybe Tozai Games has been capitalizing on the recent arrival of Spelunky on Xbox Live Arcade, or maybe it's just really trying to give gamers some more Spelunker HD love. Whatever the case may be, the company has been releasing some new content for the brutal roguelike, and there's more on the way.

Tozai announced that two new Championship Mode DLC packs for Spelunker HD would launch next month. Titled EX9 and EX10, the add-on content will drop on the PlayStation Network on October 2 in North America.

If you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you'll be able to snag Spelunker HD and all DLC packs for 50 percent off at launch. Like with the last set of DLC, this deal will expire after two weeks, so if you need some Spelunker HD in your life, be sure to snag it quickly so you can save some cash.

Oh, and if you're really in the mood for some terribly challenging gameplay, maybe these words from Tozai co-founder Scott Tsumara will entice you further: "These new levels are possibly the toughest created to date, in a game that is already considered one of the most challenging of all time!"

I'm scared.
