It was recently announced that 19-year old Tom Holland will star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Sony and Marvel Studios reboot. This latest rendition of Spider-Man will feature a younger Peter Parker, one who is still in High School and will focus on his origins story.
The Spider-Man reboot is set to hit theaters on July 28, 2017, but Tom Holland/Peter Parker has somewhere to be other than the set of Spider-Man… He's heading straight to the set of Captain America: Civil War.
Marvel Studios' President Kevin Feige revealed that Tom Holland's first appearance as Spider-Man will be in Captain America: Civil War, as it is set to release on May 6, 2016 – well before the Spider-Man reboot. Paul Rudd, who has taken the role of Ant-Man (which is releasing on July 17), will also be making an appearance in Civil War. It will be interesting to see how all of these individuals overlap.
Feige also revealed that Marvel has reserved the right with Sony (as the film producers for the Spider-Man reboot) to have any Marvel characters of their choice appear in the Spider-Man film.
Who will cross-over into the Spider-Man reboot? Until we know more about who the villain of the film is, it's hard to even take a guess — although there are tons of upcoming Marvel films.
