Splatoon gets its final free content drop today

After seven months of bringing free content to Splatoon, the day has come for developers to call it quits. The last DLC item has been added to the game and from here on out the developers will only be focusing on balancing the game.

According to developers, Splatoon has already seen enough DLC. "There are already 14 stages and over 70 kinds of weapons," said Producer Hisashi Nogami. "So if they add even more, it would be hard for players to memorize all of them, especially when considering weapon compatibility with stages."

So, what's the last item coming to the game? The Custom Hydra Splatling (as seen above). The 74th and final weapon will be available to Splatoon players later today.

On the bright side, Splatfest events will continue on.
