Splatoon gets new map, America gets second Splatfest

Tomorrow at the usual time, 7:00 PM PST, Splatoon's Moray Towers map will be unlocked and added to the rotation. This map is by far the most vertical of all the multiplayer arenas. Competitors will have to fight a literal uphill battle to ink enemy territory as they climb a series of hairpin turns, while the defenders can easily make their way down the tower by jumping down into the fray.

R.I.P. all those who are unfortunate enough to get stuck with roller heavy teams here.

North Americans had better adapt to the new map fast, as the Second North American Splatfest has been dated, and it's coming soon. Cast your lot with Team Roller Coaster or Team Water Slide to battle it out in the name of summer theme park attraction superiority from 7/17 at 9:00 PM PT – 7/18 at 9:00 PM PT.

Not quite as heated as the Cats vs. Dogs rivalry, but worth ink to ink combat nonetheless.

It's nice to see the Splatfest is already making its return, as many people are still chasing those rare perfect augments on the freshest pieces of gear, and the festivities bring a bounty of Super Sea Snails to all who participate.

Even if you're not into min/maxing though, the Splatfest changes are pretty cool all by themselves.
