A mere two hours before the greatest Splatfest to date, Splatoon will be receiving two brand new weapons. Very little is known about these weapons other than their names, what they look like, and some images of them in use. While we still don't know what their sub and special load outs will be, we can glean some insight into their functions.
As expected of Splatoon, we see an unconventional new weapon.
The Bamboozler 14 Mk 1 is an all new weapon, and if the name doesn't give it away, it looks like a bamboo water pump. From the shot of it in action, the Bamboozler appears to be a type of charger weapon, possibly a new subset in a manner similar to the Splatling gun. Expect to see a lot of this one just for novelty's sake.
Who knows, maybe you'll want to play with the D.if its load out is good enough..
The second weapon is the L-3 Nozzlenose D. It looks to be your typical variant, possibly with slightly altered stats and a new sub/special load out. If you aren't a fan of the L-3 Nozzlenose, it's hard to imagine the D changing your mind. The Nozzlenose line comes with three shot bursts instead of fully automatic fire, requires more accuracy than other shooters, and can have difficulty approaching chargers. the original made up for its weaknesses with a load out that complimented it nicely, but we still don't know what the D brings with it.
Without more details on these weapons, it's hard to get a feel for where they'll stand in the weapon hierarchy, but you can bet you'll see a ton of them leading up to Splatfest. The Splatoon community is an active one, so somebody will undoubtedly have all the pros and cons mapped out before the contest even begins.
Again, these new weapons release at 7PM PST on August 28.
