Splinter Cell Blacklist local co-op scratched from Wii U version

When it comes to Splinter Cell Blacklist, the Wii U GamePad allows for some pretty nifty stuff, like the ability to act as your version of Sam's arm computer or OPSAT (OPerational SATellite uplink). It does come with a trade-off however; the Wii U version will ship without offline co-op.

"In order to ship at the same time as the other consoles, we unfortunately weren’t able to delve into this feature," Producer Liu Jun explained for the absence of offline co-op. "But we think Nintendo gamers will be really excited to get the game at the same time as other consoles."

Co-op has been described as "optional" missions that compliment the storyline of the single player campaign. Furthermore, Jun explained that almost all of the co-op missions can be played alone as well. So while Wii U fans won't be able to enjoy the game in typical old-fashioned offline co-op, it's not like they'll be missing out on too much. They'll still have the missions and they'll still be able to play online.

I'd say same day launch as other platforms along with the unique Wii U features are a worthy trade. What do you think?
