Splinter Cell: Conviction hits Xbox One via backwards compatibility

Splinter Cell may have gone off the grid, but Xbox One players can now pop in their old copies of 2010’s stylish entry, Conviction courtesy of newly launched backwards compatibility support. The news was announced in a press release sent out by Ubisoft earlier today.

If however, you don’t already own the game, you can get your hands on it from the Xbox Live store at 50% off, coming out at $10.

Splinter Cell: Conviction originally released almost eight years ago, to generally positive critical acclaim. It took some risks stylistically that fans are torn on even to this day, and scaled down many of its stealth mechanics. Despite all that, it is still a solid game if taken on its own merits. So if you’ve got some spare cash lying around and are looking for a roughly 8-hour long action-stealth game, you could do much worse.

The 50% discount is a part of a larger Ubisoft publisher sale going down on Xbox Live, and the price is only good until February 12th. If you want to see what else is on sale, head over here.
