Square Enix Celebrates 15 Years of Kingdom Hearts with Japan-only PS4 Model

Kingdom Hearts has been around for 15 years. It feels like only yesterday that Kingdom Hearts 2 came out… except it doesn't. It feels like a very long time. Nevertheless, Square Enix and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia have announced an exclusive Japan-only model of the Playstation 4 in celebration of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Prologue.

Releasing on January 12 in Japan (and Japan only), the special edition PlayStation 4 will available with 500 GB or 1 TB and comes in a jet black with a Kingdom Hearts theme and also comes with a Kingdom Hearts menu theme as well.

Pre-orders are available at Sony Store Japan and releases along-side the game release on the same date of January 12. North America and Europe will see the game minus the special edition console on January 24.

This begs the jealous question: Why does Japan get all the awesome things? We'll just sit here and ask with envy in our eyes.
