Square Enix simplifies Dragon Quest 7’s shards

Square Enix is making Dragon Quest 7 a little easier on the 3DS.

One change is having visible enemies instead of random encounters, but another makes shards easier to find. A new radar will alert players if a shard is close-by.

Shards enable players to access new worlds. Restoring them to their respective pedestals transports the party to a new location and, essentially, a new quest. Players have a lot to find, so radar should make it easier.

A new character also provides hints about their locations.

The Dragon Quest 7 remake is due out February 7 in Japan.
