Japanese gaming giant Square Enix is celebrating the long-awaited launch of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, and is showing their gratitude towards eager fans for their enduring patience. Interestingly enough, in that video message, the publisher has opted to show the PC version of the game. Watch it yourself below!
After more than five years since rumors first started spreading that Square Enix was planning to fully remake one of the most important RPG games of all time, today is the day that Final Fantasy VII Remake is officially launching. The game became synonymous with the PlayStation franchise and helped it greatly establish it as the premier console. Likewise, the remake is also coming out exclusively for the PS4.
But just like the original, this isn’t a full exclusive but only a timed one. We already knew that FFVII would only be exclusive for the PS4 for a one-year period. And with today’s new trailer, there’s now official confirmation that PC gamers will receive their port of the remake on April 10th, 2021. Exactly one year after the PS4 launch.

We just released FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE that many of you have been waiting for.
The original FINAL FANTASY VII was released in 1997, which means that this remake is coming to you after 23 years since its release.
Fans may be thinking. “I wonder what happened to that scene,“ or “I wonder what happened to Cloud’s cross-dressing scene,“ but we revived the original game using state of the art technology and the best graphics making it into a game that meets or goes beyond your expectations and is exciting to play.

It’s not uncommon that PC footage is shown to promote console releases. After all, PCs are heavily used in the creation of any game. But it still is ironic that Square Enix has decided to use PC footage of the game for the timed-exclusive launch of Final Fantasy VII Remake on the PlayStation 4.
Either way, it won’t matter to PS4 owners who are now experiencing the highly-anticipated game with other platforms being sidelined for an entire year. In the meantime, check out the launch trailer here!
