Following confirmation from Hajime Tabata that Final Fantasy XV will definitely release in 2016, the game director has revealed an exact release date announcement will come in March.
Speaking to Japan's Famitsu magazine, Tabata-san confirmed that Final Fantasy 15 will be showcased during an event in March, where the release date will finally be announced.
"This year is the year we'll release Final Fantasy XV," Tabata-san told the magazine in a special New Year's message. "Currently, we've decided on all of its specifications and the beta version is under production so we can shift into the debug phase."
"We'll show the real XV during the release date announcement this March," he confirmed.
In early December, rumors stemming from a questionnaire on the Square Enix website suggested a summer 2016 release for the highly anticipated RPG. The questionnaire asked users "if Persona 5 and Final Fantasy XV came out at the same time, which would you prefer?" Persona 5 was delayed to summer 2016 last year.
