Whether or not the rumors were true will be confirmed in the not too distant future! Square Enix is planning on revealing their celebration plans for Final Fantasy's 30th anniversary soon, according to Square Enix’s Shinji Hasjimoto in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu (Hachima Kikou via Gematsu).
The only anniversary plan that has been announced so far is the Final Fantasy XIV-themed real-life escape room that will be in various locations in Japan starting February 10.
Rumors claim that the 30th-anniversary will see the announcement of the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection which would bundle up Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX on a single disk/card for the PS4 and Vita, and will include two versions of Final Fantasy I to VI: original versions from NES/SNES and modern ports (mostly mobile ports).
The rumor detailed that there would be three versions of the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection.
In addition to the collection bundle rumor, it was suggested that Final Fantasy XIII trilogy for PS4 will be announced to release next year and will feature Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2 and Lightning Returns on separate discs in 1080p and 60fps.
The rumor also went over a Final Fantasy 7 Remake announcement and more. We will find out "soon" whether or not the rumors were, in fact, true.
