After Microsoft announced details of 'Project Scorpio' during their annual E3 press conference it left us wondering about which games would be available for the console… and now Square Enix has suggested Final Fantasy XV could be the first to the dance.
Hajime Tabata broke the news during a recent interview with Kotaku, where he also talked about Microsoft's latest projects, where he'd like to see Final Fantasy go next and more.
When pressed on the possibility of seeing Final Fantasy XV on Scorpio, he said: "It'd be really great though if we could have Final Fantasy XV something we can play on the current-generation Xbox One and PS4, also give them that choice that when the new, stronger generation hardware comes out, to have them play at that level as well.
"I'd really like to be able to give them that" he added.
Tabata's suggestion that Final Fantasy will be upgraded in the future might well leave some fans excited, although he did seemingly look to quell that anticipation, for the time being at least.
"We haven’t started anything… I first learned about Scorpio at the [Microsoft] conference. I was there waiting in the green room and I go “ooh wow, what’s that?”
The game designer might not have been very familiar with Microsoft Scorpio before he entered the conference at E3, but was keen to add that the idea has "quite a lot of potential."
