Square Enix unveils release date for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

It's been a long time coming, and after the disaster that was, Final Fantasy XIV, it looks like Square Enix is comfortable enough with the progress of A Realm Reborn to finally set the release date.

The August release date seems to be rather fitting, considering the game has had some extensive beta tests taking place on the PC version, with the final beta phase coming in June to both PC and PS3.

Regardless of the last beta phase, this tweet makes it official ladies and gentlemen! And with this announcement, you can already start pre-ordering A Realm Reborn for a mere $29.99 on PC and $39.99 on PS3.

But there's even more good news! Green Man Gaming is currently offering a coupon code which will bring down the PC version to to $24. Just use the following code when checking out and the discount is yours. GMG20-LLASD-D8WBQ

It does look like A Realm Reborn will be sticking to its monthly subscription, as noted on the site. It's a little curious since most games nowadays are Free to Play or have gone that route since release.
